REACHING OUT IN PRAYER

Mark 5:25-34 (New Living Translation)
25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. 26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. 27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.
30 Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”
31 His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. 34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”
People often turn to me for prayer and in most cases there is some physical problem that they want corrected [healed]. Since God is present everywhere [omnipresent], knows all things [omniscient] and is all power [omnipotent] I am not led to tell God what to do such as to fix something nor to give Him any information for He knows more about the need than I ever could possibly know. For me to do this would be praying amiss (see James 4:3). Instead, I spend time in communion with God, being in His Presence, and experiencing His peace. This is a continually growing experience (see Proverbs 4:18; John 17:3; 2 Corinthians 3:18).
In the story above the woman was healed of a long time issue of blood simply by touching the robe of Jesus. The Master sensed that power [energy] had gone out from Him. In this instance the woman was healed simply by coming into the presence of Jesus with a receptive heart and reaching out to Him which was symbolized by her touching of His robe. So I believe that as I spend time in communion with God that His power will go out from me and touch the lives of receptive hearts all around the world and especially those who reach out to me for spiritual help and healing. It is my responsibility to respond to those who reach out to me by spending quality time with God.
The lesson here is the importance of everyday, consistent communion with God, the Source of all power and then LET that power [energy] flow out through me and touch people's lives.
