THE DESIRE TO CORRECT AND CONTROL OTHERS Feeling that we must correct or control other people is an onerous burden indeed and a very strong factor in a lot of human behavior. This takes many forms and is often very subtle and not even realized by the person trying to manipulate or correct others. Zeal to promote a certain religious point of view or to "evangelize the lost" in some cases has been motivated by the desire control others. I am not depreciating true evangelism that is motivated by the desire to to help others find a better life but merely suggesting that the motivation for engaging in it needs to be carefully examined. Everything that we do needs to be from a foundation of humility and genuine love for God and others. When these qualities are in place positive results will follow and people will be uplifted to a higher plane of life.
“Control and manipulation are not love; the outcome is a life of imprisonment ultimately leading to deep-rooted feelings of resentment.” ― Ken Poirot
