PRAYING FOR OTHERS
"You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”—Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)
In praying for others we are not focusing our attention on fixing or changing something in the realm of matter. Our total attention is on the actual experience of the realization of God and the revelation that the person for whom we are praying is, in their inmost being, truly a child of God (1 John 3:1-3). I’m not talking here about an “information thing” or thinking ABOUT God or ABOUT the other person but what I’m speaking of here is in the realm of actually EXPERIENCING GOD and realization of the truth that the other person does have their life and being in God and in Him alone (Acts 17:28). This is an experience of ONENESS with God and His creation which is wholly spiritual. All of this is experiential and can never be learned by human methods such as reciting affirmations, positive thoughts, begging, pleading, giving God information, or telling Him what He should be doing. In times of waiting upon God in Silence, whether it be a shorter a longer period, these revelations come to us. God is in charge and is doing His work; we need to come into harmony with what He is already doing and His view rather than the human outward appearance. “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord” (Exodus 14:13).
