IT IS BY GRACE
"Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite.”—Psalm 47:5 NKJV
"But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.”—Romans 11:6 ESV
Some people who seek a deeper walk with God may think, “Well I simply don’t have enough understanding, knowledge or teaching in order to really experience the presence of God.” We are told not to lean on OUR own understanding (see Proverbs 3:5). While I believe in the value of good spiritual teaching we must be careful not to feel that it is some level of knowledge that we must achieve before we can go forward. No, “His understanding is infinite” and ours will always be finite. How, then, shall we experience God? SIMPLY BE WILLING TO SPEND TIME IN COMMUNION WITH GOD so that you can begin to hear from that “still small voice” from within. It is the WILLINGNESS, not some degree of achievement on our part, that opens the door for the blessings of Heaven to flow into us and then through us to others. Sometime do a concordance study on the word “willing” and you’ll soon see how being willing is essential on our part but even this willingness or desire to experience more of God comes to us through God’s grace and is not a matter of our human intellect or attainment. The spiritual path is God’s grace working in us and through us all the way. God’s infinite understanding is imparted to us as we spend time waiting upon Him in Silence, opening our heart for all that He has for His children (see Romans 8:26).
